Tate Year 3 Project

Tate Year 3 Project

Over the last school year, I worked full-time for Tate as a Photographer on the Year 3 Project - a new artwork from Steve McQueen that will go up in Tate Britain in November 2019.

I led sessions for approximately 10,000 children across over 220 mainstream, independent and SEND schools in 32 boroughs of London taking their class photographs as well as doing activities and discussing topics such as art and diversity.

Scenario

Scenario

In 2017, I wrote, recorded and produced a six-part podcast series, Scenario, which follows photographers and their projects as they unfold. Digital Camera World praised the series putting Scenario at the top of their list of 20 Best Podcasts For Photographers in 2019:
“Two things make this podcast stand out. The first is the professionalism of its production, which is equivalent to a show on say, America's NPR or the UK's Radio 4. And the second is the fascinating and inspired choice of projects.”

Scottish Opera Commission

Scottish Opera Commission

In 2013-2014, I was commissioned to take portraits of everyone involved in the Theatre Royal redevelopment project in Glasgow. Scottish Opera who own and run the building wanted to document and create a legacy for all of the people responsible for making it happen.

I took portraits over 18 months, photographing nearly 400 individuals from 58 companies. The work is now on permanent display at the theatre.

Recollection

Recollection

For this long-term series, I am working with people in the early stages of dementia and trying to tell their life stories, with the use of coded objects, in a single image.

I received IdeasTap funding and was Highly Commended for The Sir Simon Milton Award for this project.

Short Film Docs

Short Film Docs

This is some of my earlier work documenting stories in Glasgow.

Life of Brian combines photographs and audio to tell the story of one man and his tattoos. Saratoga Trunk is about a vintage clothes warehouse, a slightly unconventional family business of the same name, which is now under new management.

Show and Tell

In this series, completed in 2015, I documented different people with an object that has a personal and significant story behind it.

Some work from this series was made during a art residency at IITSPIRATION and was exhibited in Photo Scratch (London) and Portrait Salon in London and Tokyo.
