b. 1985. I am a graduate of Glasgow School of Art and currently live in London.
My work explores patterns in history and freakish details that shape us, both as individuals and as a society and considers how we use our limited time on Earth and the legacies we leave behind.
My current ongoing series Recollection explores the lives of people living with dementia, creating visual legacies that tell their life stories in a single image. This work has been funded by IdeasTap and facilitated by Westminster Arts.
Alongside legacy, a strong focus of my work is women. My photography book Females Of The Fringe documents female comedians and considers the role of gender in comedy today.
Jessica undertakes commissions alongside her project work. As well as individual artists and performers, her photography clients include:
I have undertaken two large legacy project commissions. For eighteen months, I worked on The Theatre Royal Portrait Project for Scottish Opera, taking 400 portraits which are now on permanent display in the Theatre Royal, Glasgow. I also created and designed large displays for a street exhibition promoting and celebrating The Gannochy Trust's 75th Anniversary in 2012.
